Just wondering. Over the years I have been accumulating tons and tons of gravel. Should I just throw it all away? Any ideas for re-using this stuff? I probably say I got 300lbs of gravel sitting in buckets and containers taking up space.

How has it been stored and where? If for example, it has been sitting in a garage or a shed who knows what is in the gravel over the years. I would probably just ditch it I have lots of old gravel sitting around too but I think I am going to ditch it when I do my spring cleaning. .I do not want to risk bringing anything weird to my tanks from old gravel. To me, it is just not worth it.

If you want try selling it in the classified ads section? What about like decoration in an outside garden? or just in pots with plants it will help with drainage. My grandma has a stone driveway and we've just been adding my stones that I don't want anymore to that. It adds a nice bit of color..haha.

I had a bucket of gravel and stones sitting for years, but since I didn't clean it before I threw it in there, I was also afraid to use it again. It was all natrual colors and it now makes a really pretty mulch on my front flower beds. I like KSwords idea of mixing it in for plant drainage as well.....I bet my orchids would love some.

Drainage for flower pots is a great idea!

Thanks. Yeah it's been inside the house in a closet. So it's probably safe.
