I recently bought my first turbo snail. Well today I found it dead and after inspecting it I found that part of its shell looked out of place. I was actually able to flick these areas off to find that they were actually little shelled critters of some sort. I have no clue what these are any help here? Are they dangerous to my tank?

You mean that white spiral thing on the bottom of the shell. Are you sure its not a Calcareous tubeworm? Calcareous tubeworms are harmless worm tube filter feeders.

P.S.
These worms will attach to almost any hard surface. They will only attach to the outside and not in a harmful manner. A snail shell is a nice place to attach for them because they can filter feed through the water while the snail moves along.

yeah, my turbos are covered with those things, as is the back of the tank. they're harmless, not to worry.

Several of mine have those things too, I just assumed they were some kind of symbiotic crustacian. Never been able to remove any of them though.

Maybe a type of limpet? There is a little info on this page. I am sure a google search would help you even more.
