How do you guys take pictures of these fishes? About a week ago, I tried my very first picture. I showed it to the guys at the work place, and they all laughed (for a good reason...:D ). Some says it looks like a space ship, others say it is a picture of a fish drawn by 2 year old... I took about 50, and _one_ came out not-too-blurry, the rest was garbage...

I used Canon A70, which is a 3 mega pixel digital camera with manual focus and also has the macro setting (which doesn't seem to help that much!) It takes very nice piture of just about everything except what's in the tank...

I used a friends sony dsc 4.1 mega pixel to take these. We spent a good hour or so taking the pics and filled his 128mb memory card up three times and these and the pics of my cons are the only good shots I got really. Click on the WWW button under my name to see more. The pics I took could have been better as I took them during the day. The best pics are taken at night with no lights on in the room and only the tank lights on with no flash.

Photographing fish is difficult. Especially if you have africans which dont like to sit still for anything. Most of these pics were taken while feeding. If I get close to the glass any other time, my GT tries to get me through the glass. :D

Alright - I'll try the photo during the night. So you never had any focus issue before? For me, that seems to be the main problem - I get a good focus one every 20 pictures or so...

yes I had focus issues I did find that the closer I got to the glass the more issues that resolved. But not in all cases. Just take a bunch and only expect to get a few good ones.
