Well i originally posted this at loaches.com but lacked answers, and it occured to me, we have loach fantaics here!!
So, my 55 has 2 plecs, both of which live in black water naturally, and a betta, which also tends to naturally inhabit black water, and 3 queen loaches.. aka botia dario.
If i were to add either peat moss, or 'fresh' driftwood, to create a more black warer - like environment, would my loaches enjoy it? tolerate it? hate it? The others, i'm sure, are happy as they are, but it would be cool to make it more 'natural' if the loaches would enjoy it as well.
Thanks all!!
LeeAnna
ps.. I know i have to boil or bake the drift wood, etc. Ill research all the necessities and difficulties of maintaining a black water tank. Right now, i just am curious if my loaches would tolerate it or not.
