I have been in the hobby many, many years. I have kept every imaginable fish and creature that one can keep. I am astounded that people are still grading shrimp. I thought that went out of vogue years ago. I think that it is disappointing that many still use this advertising gimmick concocted years ago by a gentleman who was, actually, a very dishonest person. It's nothing like distinguishing fish as wild caught or F1. Why is it still used?

Not that big into shrimp, so I'm not familiar with the "rules" of the grading system, but I always thought the grading was based on clarity of color and pattern demarcation. There does seem to be a wide disparity in (at least crystal red shrimp) in the quality of different strains.
