i want to get my poor mystery snail out of my 10G because my two honey gourami's are picking at him alot. Can I put him in a unfiltered 1 or so Gal. tank, he is quarter sized??

actually it will have a undergravel filter or a DIY sponge filter

Would this be a permanent home? I guess that I would say it would be better than living with fish picking on him, but far less than ideal. Apple snails make a good bit of waste and generally speaking do best with about 2.5g per snail. If you are willing to be extra dilligent with water changes to keep up with his waste, it may be doable but not ideal.

not perminent, just until we can get him in the 55 S.A. tank

should be just fine for a short term solution. Please be sure to monitor the parameters closely for ammonia spikes though.

I found a HOB filter made for NANO's up to 3G, so we put it on the 1G and put gravel in it, and filled, put the snail in, and in minutes he was all around the thing. considering that he is always in his shell because the honey's picked on him. I think that would work great for a little while. and its got a 3G filter on it!!
Later, we want to put a few shrimp in it with some java moss...
BTW, how is the purple snails growing? ready to ship? Do you have any Apple snails?
