So I re-did my tank today and thought I'd post up a some pics of the tank and it's inhabitants. It is home to my 2 gold Sevs, 1 Firemouth (his mate passed), 2 cats (not sure the type) and my newest additions 1 blue Gourami and 3 paradise fish.
I know I really need to add some Vals to it.

Thanks guys! :)
Yes, BK...the slates I did myself.
I haven't had one of these Gouramis before, but he was in a tank that looked pretty bad, had to get him!! So far I like him very much (not really sure it's a he?)
I'll get some pics of my 150 and post too here in a bit. The driftwood finally stays sunk so I was able to arrange it a bit today also.

Nicely done!
I agree about putting some vals in, but the slate work is well-done. Do you have the top completely covered? Paradise fish can be jumpers.

Irish-The top is mostly covered..there is a space by the filters that is not. I will get them covered ASAP then, I didn't realize they were. I got the paradise fish with the blue Gourami, they were in the same tank...but they had them with some GSP!! Many were very beat up, or dead...so I took the ones that looked the best, and told the guy that they needed to put them in a different tank...I also of coarse had to let him know that the GSP were NOT brackish, and you don't make brackish water with AQUARIUM salt. Yeah, can you guess where I bought them LMAO!

Good job on the rescue, but what are GSPs?
(And yeah, I can guess where you bought them. :angryfire: )

I think your catfish may be Columbian Sharks.. Can't really tell from the picture because it's only of the head, but here is a link to a profile of the Columbians: http://badmanstropicalfish.com/profiles/profile63.html
I recently had two of them myself.. They were sold to me as freshwater and I was told they only got to be about 10 inches.. and also by the name of Black Fin sharks. From (after purchase) research, I came to realize that I would need an upgrade from my 30 gal. tank and a tank designated just for them..
The two I had, didn't show any aggression towards my other fish other than the ones that would fit into their mouths. And I was quite surprised at how big of fish they could actually fit. My Columbians didn't quite reach 5 inches yet, but they had managed to eat 2 full sized Moon, 1 full sized Molly, 3 guppies (no surprise there), a couple Zebra Danios and most disturbed of all, 2 Bala Sharks of about 2 inches.
Mine died two months ago (after having them for 8 months) because I failed to make the transition to brackish water in time for them.. I had moved them into a 75 gal. tank with it's previous tank mates (because I moved myself) and didn't have the 30 gal. reset up.
Other than their voracious appetites and salt requirement, they were quite wonderfull fish to have. Always doing acrobatics. I only regret not meeting their needs soon enough. They showed no ill signs.. just found them belly up after work.
If your cats are Columbians, I wish you all the luck with them! :)

No, if you see a full shot of them...they look nothing like a columbian (I'll get a better shot and post up)...I had columbians myself at one time, I loved them they were sold to me as FW also. I was able to set up a brackish for them but unfortunately the winter storm we had took the power out for 4 days and I lost them, along with the Violet goby and mollies I had in there. :(
Could they be pictus, G? Nice gouramis.

I love cichlids!! I can't wait to be able to finish my 75 so I can get a african tank going!!
Well, I tried to get a couple better shots of the Cat...they stay in the rocks most of the time, and when they come out they swim around so fast it is REALLY difficult to get a non-blurry shot. Took a couple of my m/fm sevs together too. One of my boy checkin out the cat's hiding spot :)

Awww, thanks Ky!!

I'm sure you can adhere them together...maybe silicone or superglue? I have to be VERY careful when I vac, sometimes I do knock em over, alot of the times I just take the first couple layers off before I vac...then replace them after. I'm always changing the rock around anyway :)
Lovely fish & tank G - especially the sevs

Wow, really? I got them with a tank that a co-worker gave me, it was a 30g with them and 3 JDs...the tank became the sump for my SW and the fish well, the Cats went in the 55 and the JDs the 150...sounds like I may be moving the Cats in there as well!

I love your tank! I think some really tall plants (like Val or something) would just finish it and make it even more beautiful! You've done a good job with it.
