I currently have 2 albino cories in my tank, I would like to get 4 more for the purpose of making them into a sweet school. The thing is, I have discovered the long fin albino cory, which I would gladly pay extra for...
Are normal fin cory going to want to school with long fin? Are they even going to notice? I am almost thinking of just having one longfin so that he stands out among the crowd... Would the others possibly segregate him?

They're most likely the same species, c. aeneus, so they should get along fine, they can tell they're the same :grinyes:. It may be my imagination but long finned fish seem to swim slower. Why not get 2 LF so nobody is left behind just in case :)?

Well I was just thinking I could give him a sweet superiority complex, because that'd be cool to have an egotistical fish :D but that probably wouldnt happen, maybe go for 2... I just wanted to make sure they'd be OK with eachother. for some reason I am really into long fin fishes, wouldnt mind a longfin albino teminiki instead of my normal albino.... I guess I have a thing for albino's too lol

even if they were different species, chances are they would group together because they look so similar.

Longfin Albino Corys! I must find some. My roommate's gf likes odd fish and an albino longfin cory would fit right in with her eyeless albino cory and albino cory that's missing its dorsal fin and what looks to be a chunk of spine.

yeah, my wife is constantly commenting on my desire for the "odd ball" fish. I find them funner than just normal ones, unfortunately I am yet to find a longfin for sale!

cories will shoal with cories for the most part. really doesnt seem to matter what species or what they look like. i have 3 emeral green cories, one schwartzi and one trilineatus. the 5 of them hang out together all the time.

palgo47, yes, they can live alone from what i've seen, but every since I bought a few more, they are definately more active. I had 2 for the longest time, and they stuck side by side at all times, I would personally suggest no less than a pair (not nesesarily male and female)

from what I have read and been told, yes, any species will pair up and hang out with the one you already have, being the way I am though, I prefer to keep the same species.

I'd suggest getting bronze (aeneus)if you want 2 looks, the non-albinos can tell the albinos & LF albinos are the same species so you'll have the social base covered (AFAIK I haven't kept albinos)
