What is the gestation period for ramshorn snails? I'm planning on getting a pair for my 6.6gal to make babies for the pygmy sunfish (still some time before I put in the order for them)

basically I want to know how long before getting the sunfish I should get the snails so they will have baby snail access when I introduce them.

also, I've been told different things on the subject. Can ramshorns reproduce asexually? I had ramshorns a long time ago and I'm pretty sure I saw them making what appeared to be sweet snail love on more than one occasion.

They can reproduce asexually. I would give yourself several weeks or more if you plan on using them as a staple diet. I don't know the actual gestation, but typically after 2 weeks or so of new snails being added, I have babies. If you get 6-12 ramshorns and feed them intentionally, you will have PLENTIFUL ramshorns in no time.

thank you msjinkzd.

May I ask, can ramshorns produce sexually as well or was I mistaken when I thought I saw them making sweet snail love?
