Went back to petsmart for another reason, but went by fish dept. The tank marked obiquiden cichlid eas occupied by another type of fish. But i happened to look in the tank that had larger assorted cichlids and it had 1 obilquiden with the stiped colors thats missing off the fish i had. I know this fish once was in the obilquiden tank. I thought i had the last one. I wonder if i talk to a manager if they would exchange that fish with mine, for the price of an obiliquiden (3.00) clearance price instead of (12.99) large assorted cichlid price. i have my receipt.

Went back to petsmart, and my plan worked. No extra cost. This one has colors. The problem is that it's alittle bit bigger than my what was my largest fish. The new fish is already chasing chasing that fish and a few others alittle. I wonder if i need to take it back. It's about 3 1/2-4'' long. Heres some pics. I don't see any egg spots, but that part of fin looks alittle rugged. So is it maybe is it a female? thanks for any opinions.

Can anybody tell if male or female from these blurry pics? I don't see any egg spots on it.

I guess that the right way to spell the name is Obliquiden. I know this kind of fish are not named corectly, but thats a diff. story.

Well all my fish still alive. Maybe it will workout. Im hoping its a female so it wont grow much more.
Any opinions or ideas of the sex?
Thanks.

It's hard to tell from the pics, but I'd guess it's a male. Does it have a red belly? I'm not 100% but don't only the males have red bellies?

Yep their is some red on belly. I've seen other pics of males on websites and they had eggspots. Don't see any egg spots on mine, but fin is alittle ragged from fights i guess before i bought it. From what pics i've seen from other sites, i think now mine is male.
