I have a 55w balist can I power a 40w bulb with it.Or should I buy a 48"60w "cool white" HO bulb?
One more ?
Could my 55w no flo balist power a 55cf bulb.

Ranger- i answered the question over on the marine DIY forum. you dont need to post on both of them as most people look at both forums.

somefin- do you have any info on the ballast? model numbers, companies, etc?

Most the label not legible anymore <kinda like my posts>
Anyway it says its for powering2-72" 55w tubes or two 74w 96" bulbs:)

I need a 4 foot light and could also use a strong small 24" any sugestions.

BTW arnt 20" vho bulbs 75w and might those be what I should shoot for? Or you think a pair of 55 or 65w cf is the answer?

you cant run both a 4 ft and a 2ft light off one ballast. usually when there overdriven there using one ballast per light, or all tubes that are the same wattage.

theres no such thing as a 20" bulb, but your right, a 24" VHO is 75 watts.

i Prefer VHO over CF as i think the color looks nicer and its not as easy to break the bulbs.

One or the other not both.
So you think it would power a pair of 75w vho bulbs.
BTW do they make a vho 18" not 20" as stated:rolleyes:

most likely it would power 2 24" VHOs.

ive been looking around for the past 25 minutes, and im reasonably sure they DONT make 18" VHO bulbs. I havent seen anyone carrying them....
