Start with easy plants and work up. Java Moss, Java Fern, Anubias, Crypts, ad the like are a great way to start IMO.

I agree wholeheartedly. Don't need ferts or co2 for those easy keepers. Also anacharis or hornwort.

i agree. Start with the easy plants first but first things first. What kind of lighting do you have? How many watts per gallon.? How big is the tank?

100%:iagree: i have java fern and hornwort in my tanks, and they grow nicely. my hornwort grows at about 1-2 inches a day! good lighting helps alot too. i have (on my 10 gallon) one compact fluorescent light, runs at 13 watts but puts out 60 watts of light! works wonders. 1-2 watts per gallon will help the plants grow nice and lush.

Take a look at your bulb/s. The wattage is probably printed on it. If not, can you tell us your bulb length and diameter (assuming it is a standard flourescent tube)?
