OK, just please type whole words, the abbreviations are driving me nuts.

The new tank should be rinsed out, but no soap. Rub with salt if you think it needs scrubbing, other wise just rinse well.

Fill it with tap water that is the same temperature as the tiny bowl. Use a thermometer to be sure.

What sort of filter did the little bowl have?

OK, that is easy to move to the new tank.

so, the tank is cleaned up.

You will have some gravel, if you insist, but it is actually easier to keep goldfish without grravel if you can stand the looks of it. If you have gravel, you must rinse it first.

Put some in a big bowl and run the hose in the bowl until the water runs clean, swish it around a bit, try not to spill, do this in the yard if possible as you will plug up the bathtub drain if you spill much.

Add the clean gravel to the bottom of the dry tank, then fill with tap water, at the right temperature.

What size is the new tank?

I'll assume that it is a 10 or 20 gallon, not the 100 gallon you mentioned earlier (?)

Anyhow, after the new gravel is rinsed and in the tank you can fill it up. Try not to mix up the gravel too much, you can put a bowl or plate in the tank to catch the water to keep from stirring it up too much.

Use the correct amount of dechlorinator for either chlorine or chloramine. Just follow the directions on the bottle, some a one drop per gallon, some have little measurieng things, some are a capful, whatever is right for the tank and the stuff you have.

Move the air filter. Double check the temperatures now.

Now before we go further, let me find where you started to see what is going on with the fish.

Hey if you actually go the big tank, there is a bit of stuff you need to do first.

Big tanks must be level. If not, they can crack, suddenly.

Get your Dad to help you level the stand and then the tank.

Test the level front to back, and side to side. The stand, then the tank on the stand.

Yes, you mut have a stand for the tank, you cannot set it on your dresser, a 100 gallon tank will weigh 1000 lbs and most furniture will break under that load.

You need to be sure that the tank does not tip when it is full, you may have to set bits of cardboard under one leg to get it perfectly level. You only have one chance to do this, so do it right.

The tank might need to be out from the wall a bit, I have mine set up 6 inches from the wall, so the hang-on type filter fits with room to spare. A large tank may eventually have a hang on filter like AquaClear 500, I had a penguin biowheel 330 and it needed about 4 inches of space as I recall. Better to allow 5 or 6 inches.

Are you on a floor that can support 1000 lbs? Second floor might need special consideration, tank crossing the support beams, not running along just one. See your Dad about this.

Now, back to setting the tank.

Where to put the big tank? Not right in front of a window, too hot and cold. You need electricity, too. Near a bath or sink would be nice so you don't have to go far for fresh water, you need lots of water, even with a big tank and a little fish.

It is already 11PM here, so 9PM there. I've got to go.

I suggest changing a lot of water in the 1 gallon tank and resuming this tomorrow. Be sure to match temperatures, and treat with dechlor.

The Chinese treat sick fish by moving the fish into a fresh bowl of water every day, lots of fresh water is good for them. if you give this fish fresh water everyday, you can afford to take your time to set up the tank correctly.

Wow, all this info and all the begging for help you've done and your response is "Thanx".

No acknowledgement of actual understanding, no attempt to incorporate any info into actual action plans.

You know, maybe I made it too hard.
