There's 3 LFS around me. One is great, but very costly. The other is good, but has a low selection and seems to be having large prblems with ich. The third has great slection, low prices, but it's kinda weird. A lot of their coral seems to be bleaching and it seems to be going out of buisiness. There's a nice finger leather for cheap, but I don't know how to see if there's anything wrong with it. What do you do with a place like that? How do I know if the leather is fine?

A LFS I did quite a bit of business early on with lost my business when they housed and priced ($50) a blue-ring octopus with no intended buyer. They were keeping it in a plastic hamster cage inside a fish tank, and when I asked them how they feed it the guy said, and I quote:

"I don't get near that **** thing, I have no idea"

This was after myself and a friend who is a marine biologist explained how incredibly poisonous it is the visit prior and they didn't seem to have any clue.

Point is, their total lack of responsibility made me look around and find a new LFS which is bigger, better, and more responsible, cheaper too. I'd keep looking it I were you, if the place looks sketchy, it probably is.
