Here is a picture of one of my Otos. Does anyone happen to know what their "skin" is? It almost looks like hair... or is it just tiny scales?

Hope you enjoy, these are cute little fish :)

Love them Ottos! I don't know if they're scales because Otos are so-called "scaleless" fish...if nobody else replies by morning, I'll research it more thoroughly.

Go to "User CP" at the top of the screen.

Go to "Edit Profile".

Then change the "Title" or whatever it is by typing in that blank box and clicking save changes or whichever button it is at the bottom.

Then go to sleep...

Oh, wait, that's me. It's 10:30 in Illinois, so I need to go rest now. Good luck with Tiger and let me know how he is when you get up in the morning.

They're odontodes. I guess you could think of them as "skin-teeth." Characteristic of all the Loricariid catfishes.

Try "odontodes" in the Search feature at www.planetcatfish.com

(We do have many thirteen and fourteen-year-old aquarists here at AC who are knowledgeable fishkeepers and make a fine contribution. )

Cool little otto, I just lost one the other day.He was new(added 2 to the other 2 I already have), but it was the larger and most healthy looking of the 2.Hopefully the little one will be ok though.

That is a great picture. It's the best (clearest) picture of an oto I've ever seen. Love the eyes; they seem to be too big for the rest of his little body.
