eeeeeeeeeee parrot!!

so i went to this store that i trust with birds and saw the greatest little parrot ever. its a senegal. it just kept staring at me til i picked it up and then i couldent put it down. it was 500 dollars but i couldent resist. i made a down payment of 125 and went home knowing that it was mine, but befor i bring it home i have to build an some bird cages (already on my to do list), put my cockatiel in one of them, get him a friend, clean out his cage, get stuff for the new guy,then bring him/her home i cant wait to get started!!!!!!!
anybody have experience with them?

Sorry, I know nothing about Senegals, but I bought a cockatiel in that same fashion years ago. And I still have him. When I went into the pet store, he clung to the side of his cage to see me. As I walked around the pet store, he climbed around his cage to always have me in his sight. When I held him, he fell asleep cuddled against my chest. I bought him. I've had him 12 years now. Enjoy your new bird.

its afraid of the strangest things. its still at the pet store til i build a cage but iv been visiting it. its afraid of mouse wheels, driftwood, toys with coconuts on them and the freshwater section of the store, saltwater is fine. he'll freak if he gets to close.

Now that you mentioned hamster wheels, I have a cage with 4 parakeets in it and they have a hamster wheel in their cage. They LOVE to play on it, running on it, climbing on it then when one gets off they all go spinning. They have so much fun on it. You're bird will learn to be more confident under your loving care.

i used to volunteer at a pet store in the bird section a few years ago bc i couldnt get a job yet(too young)
they really do have personality, but i cant stand the biters. i love the friendly ones though, i kind of want one.

oh he is pretty!! congrats, I love birds. my kid is alergic to anything but my maltese and snauzer. all other pets really wreck havoc with his system. I want a bird :(

no i cant get my computer to take them. i tried a bunch of stuff but they dont work, which is really annoying cus hes sleeping on top of my moniter as i type. right up ther with the gouldian finches
