So, a SA will probably try to eat just about anything that they think will fit in its mouth. I've seen the picture of the angel with an oto sticking out of its gills. Since I'm going to be shuffling tanks around, and was considering a situation where my angel and otos would be together (as well as endlers, but I was banking on the endlers being more horny than the angel was hungry.)

Keeping them separate is, of course, going to be the safest solution and it wouldn't be too hard to do, but I'd really rather not have to set up a extra tank just for this, especially since I don't know that I'd be able to spend much time watching him that way (that's part of the reason I want to combine my community tanks.) Am I looking at a significant risk, or just a small outside chance? I can live with risk, but if I'm really tempting fate I'll figure something out. For reference this is a scalare-type angel, not an altum monster. I don't know that I'd trust an altum with my bloodfins.

I have oto's in with all my angel tanks with no problems at all. I even have a dozen in with my 4 altums.

I have no experience with endlers but as to size they maybe snacks to your angels.

I think it will depend on your angels early on before I knew better I tried to keep neons with angels it work for all most 2 years than I upgraded their tank and in less than 2 days no more neons.

Small outside chance, IMO. A nicely planted tank and hidey places...no problem.

I never had a problem with angels and ottos, but did have a problem with ottos attaching themselves to discus. What I have heard about ottos is that it depends on where they were collected as certain populations have developed a taste for the slimecoat of other fish. There has been more reports of no problems with ottos so if I were you I would give it a try as long as the ottos are large enough not to fit in the angles mouths as I have heard of ottos getting stuck in angels mouths because of the spines on their fins.

i agree with rbishop. keep the tank well planted with plenty of hiding spots, and you *may* not have a problem.
