So whats the best website for learning about species compatability?

Im particularly interested in docile eels like the snowflake, and what species of non-preds i can put with it.

ALSO

Can i have an octopus and an eel together in a 75gal tank??? Has anyone tried this, or know of anyone who has?

ALSO

Can anyone offer me a website URL that shows great steps to take in setting up a 75gal SW aquarium?

THANKS:help:

Eel and Octopus are absolutely incompatible. Dependnig on the size, one WILL eat the other.

Octopus's basically eat anything in a tank, never put anything you spent any real expense on in a tank with an octopus.

Liveaquaria.com has a decent compatibility chart. Someone linked a good seahorse compatibility chart that had some usefull general info too. I can not find it at the moment.

interesting...too bad. i was thinking of getting an octo but i hear they don't live long, are very particular to specific environmental conditions, and wont do well unless they are precise. i gather they may be really expensive too. I'll just steer clear of octo's and plan on having a pred. 75gal tank. I want to have two moray's in one tank...

these are the EEL species i was thinking of putting together. each line represents a pair that i was considering...

1. Snowflake moray and Snowflake moray
1. Snowflake moray and Whitemouth moray
1. Snowflake moray and Whitelip moray
1. Snowflake moray and Chestnut moray

besides two eels i want to have these as well

2. EITHER a Clearfin Lionfish pair or a Volitans lionfish pair (2 lionfish in same tank)

3. Giant Frogfish.

So at most i would have 5 fish in my 75 gallon...

HOW DO THESE SPECIES WORK OUT...i read in "Marine Fishes", by Scott Michael, that the lionfish can be kept as pairs, i also read that the eel's i place above can also be kept together. and i just think the frogfish is cool, and so he doesnt get eaten i think he should be the larger one of the Species "Antennarius"

If you want 2 eels in the same tank, I'd seriously consider a tank much larger than just a 75g. A 75g tank can quickly become too small for even a single eel. Once the two eels get a little bit of size to them, they'll be very cramped.

Do you think it would be easy for me to sell my 75gal tank, and get a 90?

It shouldn't be too hard to sell a 75g, depending on the interest in your area and how much money you need to get out of it. But, a 90g isn't going to be any better -- it has the same footprint as a 75g (a 90g is just taller). You should consider a tank with a larger footprint all together.

i guess i can just have one eel then...no worries though.

snowflake is pretty cool, and i've heard only good things about it. thanks for the advice, im gonna post a wishlist soon, that will ask peoples advice on which species will work together

thank you for your input thus far!
