View Full Version : HOB OVERFLOW????
my LFS has one for $70......are they worth the money.....was thinkin bout one for my 30g since its a non drilled tank and maybe 2-3 for my 55g(if it goes salt) since no one here drills tanks....

Besides drilling the tank yourself ;) ...yes, they are not "bad"...depends on the model, as here in the UK there are some absolutly terrible ones...
i dont know who made these......they arent in boxes....just sittin on the shelf

I have three that I've bought off ebay that I really like. You probably won't need two on a 55. If you're really worried about the flow, get one with 1200gph (two 1" bulkeads) instead. I use a Tom Aqualifter to keep them primed. I think I paid about 50 bucks shipped for all mine.
We have a U-tube style hang on tank overflow box on our 90g. The only problems we've had with it in the 2+ years since setting it up were caused by me. I don't have any hesitations about using them.

if i were you i wouldn't go with the LFS price...i know i saw some hob overflows yesterday for 59.99 at a place that only handles saltwater equipment....
i would try to order them from online somewhere to save yourself the cash or get them used...
