Well, I'm moving into a new apartment and have too many tanks and not enough filled to justify keeping them all. (moving to a nicer apartment on a better street (read: Not on a Latin King corner) but smaller and no storage area)
So I gonna tear down my FW planted tank, sell it and use the money to buy a pump which is the only thing I need for a SW tank which is sitting in my brother's garage (and towards some better lights for it).

So I have:
~55g AGA tank
~Rena XP3
~Jagr 150w heater
~2 shop light strips with extra 6900K bulbs
~sand and red flint gravel mix
~plants and livestock (nothing "special" or rare) if the buyer wants them.
if not, I'll keep some of the fish for my office tank and take the rest to the LFS
~2 pieces of driftwood, again if they don't want it I'll throw it in the office tank

So I was thinking $250 or 275 for a stranger off craigs list. That sound OK?

I'll give it up for an AC member for $200 if your able to pick it up in Chicago. (sorry mods, I know I'm not suppose solicit in this section, but thought I'de throw it in)

for used tanks i try to get the seller to go lower with the price by throwing in: "people usually sell and buy used tanks at $1 per gallon...."
so watch out for that lol.
idk, id maybe go a little lower if you want to sell quick. some people arent looking for the whole package either.. so if no1s going for it, id edit the ad and put in individual prices for the tank, filter, heater etc.
of course pricing depends on the condition of the tank and items.. if the tank is in good shape, hasnt been used that long, and barely has any scratches i think that price is fair.

i got a 55 gallon for $15 w/ hood off of CL. no extras though.

also, in your ad(just in case you dont know) put in key words at the bottom: fishtank, fish tank, fishtanks, fish tanks, aquarium, aquariums.

good luck.

The filter alone was $170, and even at a $ per gal, thats $55. tank has no scratches or marks, and forgot to mention the stand, that was $60 or 70. I was thinking 250, but a friend said I should be able to get 275 given the Rena filter included.

ok here it goes....

~55g AGA tank with stand $100-110
~Rena XP3 $80
~Jagr 150w heater $10
~2 shop light strips with extra 6900K bulbs $10
~sand and red flint gravel mix $5
~plants and livestock (nothing "special" or rare) if the buyer wants them.
if not, I'll keep some of the fish for my office tank and take the rest to the LFS $10-$20 depending on how it looks
~2 pieces of driftwood, again if they don't want it I'll throw it in the office tank $20
