Can anyone tell me exactly how PURA NitrateLock works? specifically what it leaves behind and how it could affect my aquarium. my water is a mixture of 6L hard tap water, 10L ro water ph downed to 6.4. a small change in the hardness or addition of salt could be a bad thing.

mind telling us why you would want to use it? Are you trying to remove nitrates? If thats the case, I suggest Partial Water Changes (PWC) first.

Most likely an anion exchange. The manufacturer's sit is lacking in any solid info. It is just another product that may work on nitrates, but cons folks into thinking they don't need water changes. Totally ignoring why we really do water changes.

Snake oil for a true hobbyist.

I've been doing 50% water changes weekly. nitrates are higher than I'd like. due to circumstances I had to compress my 90g tank into a 30g tank. They'll be moved back to the 90g as soon as possible which could be a while. The tankmates are 2 clown loaches one 3" and one 5". five geophagus iporangensis from 1" to 4". four corydoras sterbai. and about 5 more random tetras.

if its overstocked, then do more frequent PWCs. Can never have too many.
