Came home from a weekend trip out of town to find my bubble tip had cloned, but into 3. Totally shocked, he's only been in my tank about a month or so. I'll post some before and after pics in a bit, still unpacking, but wow. I don't think I can keep all 3, but Pretty sure my LFS will buy the clones from me.

WHAT Kind of bubble tip anemone are you talking about here? Post pics like you said and I may be interested in buying if you are interested in selling.

It's a green, but maroon at the base and green at the tips.

I'll post some more pics later, this is a few weeks old:

I heard they "cloned" sometimes when stressed...is everything okay?

waters perfect, just tested it on Friday.

I have an 8 bulb T5 light fixture, so lighting is more than adaquate.

I've had some low calcium issues, but only as low as 360, and I've been supplimenting that daily. No aggresive fish of any sort.

The only thing that could be stressing him out is my porcelain crab moved over to this anemone last week, maybe he hasn't gotten used to it yet.

Ya it may be the crab, the main anemone seems to still be somewhat agitated. The crab is the only thing that has changed. The anemone that was hosting that crab died last week (unrelated, was unhealthy when I got it) and he moved over.

Not sure if I should wait and see if they adjust, or what. I really enjoy that crab, he's one of my fav animals, and I know they will die without an anemone to host.

I love those crabs and they are supposed to host well with anemones. You know, I wonder if he brought over some of the poisons from the old anemone and that agitated (if he was agitated at all) the cloner...could just be a wait and see thing. I definitely wouldn't dump him yet. After all, you are up several anemones at this point!

i believe that they split like that is the way that the reproduce...my friend has a rose bubbletip split and that is what he understood because he was fearful that his 120.00 anemone was on the brink too and split due to stress...

but like i said....if you are willing to ship...if the price is right I am willing to buy.

read through that link and it gives some details about the GBTA and also states how is reproduces by splitting.

I am not trying to step on your toes journey, just don't want him to worry about it being stressed

No worries about my toes. My understanding is that they split to reproduce and that they can split due to stress (evolutionarily advantages to pass on your genes quick if you think you are dying). Could be either one IMO.
