Hi! Now that my children are getting older, I'm wanting to get back into aquariums. 20 years ago, I kept two 20 gallon long tanks; one with livebearers, the other with gourami's, tetras...that sort of thing. I'm wondering what's new in freshwater? I always used undergravel filters, but am wondering if the hang on type are better?
I'm glad to have found this forum!

Hi, welcome to AC! Filters are a pretty personal choice,I prefer canisters depending on tank size, or AquaClear hang on back filters. RUGF is the new UGF (uses a powerhead to reverse the flow through the plates). Hope you enjoy the site!
