Hi I have a discus tank and wanna get some snails. I'm asking first because I know that I cant have certain plecos because they will suck on the side of the discus. I was wondering if any snails can do this? And if I can have snails what kind are reccomended?

LOL..Lots of snails are bound to end up meals for your clown loaches.;)

Yes, unfortunately you CAN NOT keep snails with any kind of loach. They will end up as loach lunch.

I know but no worries, they are around an inch long. They won'tbe hurting anyone any time soon. More worried about my discus than some little snail

Try MTS. They have lesser number of predators than other snails do. You can try the brigs who can protect themselves with their operculums but they are bound to be eaten by the loaches eventually.

MTS can be found hitchhiking among plants you buy. Where are you located? Post in Wanted Ads section including your location. If you live in US, PM msjinkzd for a few brig snails.

Snails don't bother discus ever, and discus don't bother snails ever. I agree with the brigs and MTS only with those clown loaches though, other snails will be lunch!

I'm local to the NYC area. I'll PM MsJinkzd about the snails, I've bought cherry shrimp from her before. Thanks again guys

My Discus have eaten snails. I know this because I have examined their feces and found a tiny shell.

My Discus named Old Dirty ******* eats little snails.

Take note this is not typical Discus behavior.
