Has anyone seen this? It looks like an anenome attached itself to my cucumber but (1) I don't remember this color anenome being in my tank and (2) my wife swears its coming out of the cucumber! I have never heard of a cucumber "pooping" an anenome. :p Has anyone else?
Thanks!

Do you have a picture?
I am way outta my league here, but I think Aiptasia spp. glass anemones tend to "spontaneously generate" (actually, there is no such thing...they just make their presence known) in tanks with LR...
The other thing is that sea cucumbers will sometimes expel their guts when something's not right. If that's the case, you'll need a water change quickly or else your tank is in trouble.

And now the pic that I forgot to attach!

OK maybe my cucumber is expelling its guts. :( I did a water change the yesterday and noticed it this morning. I will check my water quality but I just performed a water change.... The cucumber was feeding and stuff before I took this pic so he seems to be okay....

For some reason, I can't find a good pic of a sea cuke puking, but I did find an article on them here: http://www.wetwebmedia.com/seacukes.htm.

Those look like the so-called Cuvierian organs described on this site: http://www.szgdocent.org/ff/f-reef6c.htm.

Yep, looks like he's expelled. Should not be a huge concern--they regrow quickly, though you may want to find out what initiated the response. If they fall off, remove them from the tank so they don't rot and pollute it.

Bad goes to worse. I lost a damsel a little bit ago. My fish are really stressed out. The bottom line, I did a water change yesterday, my salinity was high to begin with and I added to it by not replenishing the freshwater. My salinity was 1.27 and my PH was really low today. I got everything back to normal and now its a matter of time to see if the fish will snap out of it. So far a bunch did but I am still hoping for my yellow tang, blenny, gobies, and hawk.
Time will tell but it goes to show to pay attention everytime you do something. Ive had this tank 3 years and slacked off.... and I am mad at myself.

Does anyone know if I should remove him from the tank due to toxins?

Probably yes.

I'm sorry to hear that...hopefully we can help with the rest of the tank.

If you plan on keeping cukes I would suggest going with one of the so called "turd" species such as tigertails. They have less of a propensity to foul a tank.
