I wasn't sure where else this would be appropriate to ask... it's a newbie question, but has little to do with fish.

On this site... it is preferable to post several posts with questions amounting to a few lines... or is the prefered method to post once with several questions?

Assuming, of course, that the questions aren't all simply along the exact same line-of-thought.

Depends if the quesions are specific to the forums they're posted in.
if they are all FW tank setup, you could most likely post in the newb forum..

general FW fish in general freshwater.
Shrimp & Snails can go in the invertebrates forum...

Well, yes.

I meant more along the lines of... I asked a question about hot water, which lead me to wondering how y'all check your temp of incoming water during water changes, and I also have a question about volume/water changes.

So they're all sort of related--but not exactly, and I know some forums out there would prefer three seperate posts---to make it easier to search for later. Other forums would consider that annoying as heck, and would much prefer one post with several questions.

Welcome to AC! Whatever way you are comfortable with. It is often time consuming to repeat all the basics about your set up with each question, so I seems giving us all the details at once and list your questions would be easiest.
