I saw these in my LFS at a great price and couldn't pass them up.
I find them to be mesmerizing in my tank.
They are very attentive when people walk up to them.
I know that I'll have to get a larger tank soon, and plan to get
either a 75 or 100 with my government stimulus check.
Thanks Uncle Sam!

peacocks usually get 5in or so.

Right. The peacocks will get to be about 5 - 5 1/2 inches.
The Venustus on the other hand will get to be about 8" when full grown.
Hence the need for a larger tank in a month or so.

The venustus pair are about 2 1/2 inches right now. Their face will typically become bluer as they mature.
Probably within the first year as they reach sexual maturity, they will double in size and become more colorful.
I'm feeding color enhancing Hatari food to aid their color. I love these guys!
