I have a 60 gallon tank with 2 Red Bellied Piranhas. I think I have enough filtration as my water parameters are perfect, but I just wanted everyones opinion. It is filtered via an AC 70 with the standard media (foam on bottom, carbon in the middle, biomax on top). Do you guys think it is enough? My water is clear and parameters are fine.

Ditto that, another AC 70 or canister, and plan on the bigger tank now.

I am a fan of two sponges and no biomax. The only time you need carbon is to remove a specific problem, i.e., antibiotics, and then its only temporary.

Well, you may also need carbon to remove other items if you have unacceptable water, odors, or like extreme clarity.

i had an ac70 and it had one sponge block, the bag of bio-max, 1 bag of matrix and a small bag at the bottom of the filter with ceramic rings. water was always perfect.

i have an ac110 now and it has pot scrubbies, bio-max and a foam block.

I just put three sponges in it because i really am big on mechanical filtration since they are so dirty and since the sponges also provide bio filtration. So far so good as the bottom sponge is black from debris from the tank. And to everyone: Thanks for your replys!!
