Does grocery store bought RO water need to be dechlorinated? The reason I ask is because the label on the water seems misleading. It says that it is "purified by reverse osmosis" but then states that the water is decontaminated more carefully than municipal water supplies. Does this mean it's chlorinated?

It's not chlorinated. It's essentially the same as you would get from a home RO system, but on a bigger scale. Not sure what they mean, other than it's been filtered for solids, carbon filtered and then goes through the RO membrane, so it is pretty well decontaminated. Germs won't go through the membrane.

Good, I was actually getting angry at the thought of having to add dechlorinator to RO water!

My concern with store-bought RO water is how often they change the filters - probably not often enough. If you, or someone you know, has a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter, you'd be able to see if the water is acceptable.
