When I decided to first keep cichlids, I was searching high and low trying to decide what fish I wanted to keep.

http://www.aquahobby.com/gallery/gterrorm.html

I saw the pic at the top of this page, and it inspired me to buy a green terror. I was lucky enough to end up with a male, but not one as striking as the one in this pic. I was just wondering if anyone else had found a pic that leaped off of the page and grabbed you and said. YOU MUST HAVE ME!

If so post which ones inspired you :D

I don't even remember which website that made me wanted to have a texas cichlid...either Carpinte or Cyanoguttatum. Now I'm happy that I finally got myself a few juvis of Carpintes.

After bumping into the cichlids forum here, I decided to google cichlids and ended up at MoJo's and cichlidscene's websites...after that I was hooked...! And pics of green terrors (cichlidscene's to be specific) is what made me really want a cichlid.

Very nice, hebdizzle!

I'd have to say that the pics of the Blue Dempseys could get me to buy them...I'm glad that I took the time to learn about BDs and how weak they are prior to purchase!

:D Depends on what you mean weak. However, my male has a confrontation with my Carpinte 'Escondio' the other day. Heck! The BD stepped down. I know that a lot of people saying BD is weak, physically. Mine are doing ok. The male got Popeye but cured later after some water changed (idiot fish stood by the water jet). So far, they are great show fish to keep. :D

For me these pictures were the straw that broke the camels back. I have been thinking about a Citrinellus colony, and now I must have one. I'm thinking of an 800g extra tall show tank.

And I guess I can have 1 Bifasciatus, too! Well I already have 5 Citrinellus and 4 Bifasciatus. But they really need an 800g don't they? Say yes.

i cant name any one picture but i can tell you the two places that got me.

After seeming these sites I have little time for anything non-cichlid (with the exception of maybe arrowana and stingrays)

Jeff Rapps Stock Photos (http://www.tangledupincichlids.com/photo.html)

and of course the

picture gallery forums at predatoryfish.net (http://www.predatoryfish.net/ibforums/index.php?act=SF&f=18)
