So when I bought my tank I bought it from a local guy selling in my area. I know the equipment is in general absolutely top notch (oceanic 75g, stand, aquaclear sump, etc) and the lighting system is almost overkill, but I got to thinking that I do not really know what is in the thing and even what SHOULD be in the thing in the first place. So I wrote down all of the info and wanted to run it by everyone here and see what I should know.
The fixture itself is an 8 bulb Tek-light fixture, this is it:

It has two banks of lights, the inner 4 and the outer 4. The inner set is on an 8 hour per day schedule, the outer set is on for aprox. 4 hours per day. The lights are 7 inches from the surface of the water inside a custom built hood. The hood has two built in 120mm fans that kick on whenever both banks are on (they are a little loud so I do not run them constantly, heat only seems to be a prob when all 8 are on).
So here is the list of bulbs in order:
1. Gersemann 54W aquablue +
2. Current 54W actinic T5HO 460nm
3. Coralife 10,000 F28-T5-BP
4. F54T5 10,000 (no branding that i can see)
5. Geisemann 54W Actinic+
6. Geisemann 54W Pure Actinic+
7. D&DoAQ Midday 6,000 54W
8. Coralife 6,700
Again, the outer bank is 1,2,7,8 and the inner bank is 3,4,5,6
I also have a set of 6 blue led's mounted inside the hood for moonlighting.
My questions are:
1) There is a large variety of lights here, no two are identical, does this setup look appropriate for a reef tank or would I be better served changing any of them out or moving them to different banks, etc?
2) Is my timing setup appropriate based on what I have?
3) How do I know when any of these need to be changed? The person I bought them from said they were all brand new, but I do not even know how to tell. Bulb 7 seems dim to me, but I was told by my LFS that this is normal for that type of bulb.
4) Basically were this your light system, how would you have it configured for my situation?
Thanks in advance for the advice, I feel like I am really out of my league as far as this goes and want to make sure I have a basic understanding of what I actually have before I need to solve any problems.
