Hi there,
Curious about how often people are feeding their tanks, what they are feeding and how much. I think it would help if folks could include some tank specs (tank size, creatures, filtration) so we can put your feeding in perspective. This could be fun!

Once or twice a week when I had my 10 gallon nano up. Had a sixline, cleaner shrimp, and small CUC. Also a bunch of coral. Filtration was 15 lbs of LR that was originally in a 5 year old 100 something gallon system. And a 2.5" layer of sand.

3-7 times a week with my current 55 gallon. Same livestock + a little more CUC. 55 lbs of LR and a 2" layer of sand.

What about you, journey0820?

I try to feed our 90g every day, but it tends to end up being more like every other day. The tank gets a mix of various dry marine pellets or a cube of frozen mysis shrimp -- thawed, strained, then soaked in Selcon. Every so often, I'll substitute in a frozen cube of Formula 1 and/or Forumla 2, frozen reef plankton, or some other frozen cube marketed for saltwater fish, as well as feeding some of our corals 1/2 - 1 frozen silverside (thawed and soaked in Selcon).

We have just 3 fish at the moment -- a pair of black and white ocellaris clowns and a Watanabe angel. There's quite a few corals in our tank. Not too many snails and hermits in our tank... maybe a dozen various snails (besides those tiny ones that come on a lot of LR) and 20 hermits. There's numerous vermetid snails, various tube and spaghetti worms, and a fair share of micro brittle stars.

Filtration is about 125 lbs of LR, 5"+ DSB, protein skimmer, 20g refugium of macroalgae.

I feed 3-4 times a week with a mix of different foods and vitamins. How much varies as to which fish I am feeding, The grouper and eel- 2-4 pieces 1-2 times a week. Niger, dwarf angel lunar wrasse and damsel get mysis-frozen angel food krill mixed 3-4 times a week.

Well, I'm curious because lots of people warn the hazards of over-feeding, but I don't really know what underfeeding looks like.

My stock is in my signature line but right now I'm feeding MAYBE once a week - a mix of 1/2 cube frozen brine and a cap full of marine snow. I worry about my guys going hungry but also see that my nitrates are at 40 and worry about putting more crap in the tank!

I try to feed at least once per day but usually twice. The fish that take pellets, I feed a mix of Ocean Nutrition 1-2 pellets for 2 minutes twice a day.

I alternate frozen mysis, brine each day. I also feed 1 cube of cyclops at least one time per day.

I have recently started feeding 2 tspns per day of Reef Nutrition live Rotifiers per day.
