another new tank up

got a 25g for free today so i set it up as a salt since a friend bought a 75g salt and converted it to fresh so i got all the cultured sand outa the tank.

my plans for it are some anemone's and a pair of clowns for the daughter in a couple of weeks.

but i have questions......
1...acclimation.....how long for the clowns and the anemone's?

2...with having anemone's what else can go with them and clowns?

3...CUC........will the regular CUC work? or is there stuff i cant get?

4....anemone's.....what do i need to supply them as far as food and current?

5....feather dusters......will they work in the tank with the clowns and anemone's?

im sure ill have more over the next few weeks while the tank cycles and i get things ready to go....

Feather dusters will be fine. You'll need to have good lights (T5HO or better) for the anemone. Anemone's like to eat silver sides...well...mine likes to eat anything but I've heard others feeding silver slides alot. There's no guarantee that your clowns will host in your anemone...just FYI>
 
You should also wait to get an anemone until the tank has been set up for at least 6 months, most recommend a year. Clowns don't need an anemone to be happy either.

Do you have LR? All you mentioned in your post is sand...
 
right now i have a few chunks of figi in there that was burried in the sand and alot of frags.....

i havent gone to town yet to get any LR cuz the guy that my friend got the 75g from is tearing down 2 tank's so i might get his LR......alot of his has green mushrooms and some polyp's that i want for my other tank....
 
Wait, I"m confused. Did it already cycle? If not, won't the ammonia spike kill off your frags when it does cycle?

<<An hour is fine for clowns, 2 hours is about right for an anemone>>

<<Anything, as most other fish dont normally interact with an anemone and clowns are normally very peacefull fish>>

<<A standard cleanup crew of snails and hermits are fine>>

If you have just set this tank up, it will need cycling first and foremost....

Added some comments above in red..
 
the tank is cycling now........the frags are in my other tank.....the only thing in the new tank is the cycled sand,,,,,,im not adding anything to it for at least another 2 weeks or so.....

it has a regular fluresent bulb right now which ill up grade once the tank is ready for inhabitants.....


since its at least a 6month wait or more for anemone's what are my chances of clowns taking to them once i do add them? or is it best add them at the sametime for them to take host?

a pair of clowns will be the only thing in this tank...perc's i believe is the size limit for a 25g....
