I set up my new 55 gallon aquarium yesturday. After a few hours I could start to see the the water line on my glass.(After every bucket of water there is a line on the glass). I tried scrubbing it off with a brush, and some did come off. i was jsut wondering if their is a good way to romove this salt build up. Or will it go away on its own?

Don't worry about it. It will always continue to happen and the less you mess with your tank, the better. If it bothers you that much, just make a few passes with a Mag Float.

If it is a glass tank, have you tried a razor blade?

I tried the razor blade, and didnt work to well. Im trying to get some pics uploaded. Maybe that will help

Did you try the sharp side of the razor blade??? ;)

Seriously, i am unsure what your refering to here as there is not much that a sharp razor blade wont shift....

Sorry my Dial up interent will not allow me to put up a pic. I think it is some kind of calcium build up on my glass. As i added the water to my tank there is a line of this "calcium" white looking stuff. The razor blade i had was not very sharpe, so I am trying to get a new one. Im hoping that I will not have to drain the tank to solve this porblem.

is it just a film on the glass and above the water?

I'm having a hard time seeing anything other than the normal evaporation and it leaves a white film above it sometimes.
