Anytiime anyone new comes to the house, one of the fist things they see are some of my tanks. The first remark anyone makes is "Wow, look how clear the water is!" Not to be dense, isn't that how it is supposed to look? I keep my water levels high enough that the trim hides the water line, giving the appearance of swimming in air I suppose.

I don't know if they can't say anything nice so they remark about the clarity or what?? But they usually end up staring/watching the fish for great lengths. I take that as a compliment to the care I render.Any other ideas??
 
that is indeed how it's supposed to look.. and that's their uneducated way of saying you have a really nice, well cared-for tank. look around sometime at the tanks of people who are inexperienced and do not take good care of their tanks, and note the LACK of water clarity. :)

that's not to say that a lack of clarity denotes improper care.. there are several variables.
 
Don't you just hate it when it's water changing day and the water is so pretty and clear and someone says,"I don't know why you have to change the water it looks really pretty now." Well duh!!!!:grinyes:
 
Yeah, I have a friend who seems like she takes good care of her fish from what she says but her water is always cloudy. I try to tell her I think it might be from overfeeding (4 algae wafers for 5 Cories, huge pinches of flakes ect.) but she insists it's not.

lol..yeah, I know what you mean. It's nice and clear for a reason. ;)

Next time ask them if they wait till their oil turns to black goo and the oil filter clogs up and the engine locks up before they change their oil. ;)
