The past few days I've noticed that my LR have been getting some pretty neat colors, but the only problem is its only happening form the back!

Did I put my LR backwards?:help: or would it eventually grow to the front?

Is there anything bad that can grow on the LR? If so can I get some pictures so I may snag the bad guys.

How will I know which LR has been "seeded", I have one that looks exactly the same since the first day I've bought it.

Can I add any kind of rock to the tank to be seeded from my current stock? Or is there a specific kind? I got some old rocks from a beach from Cambodia and San Fran, but they aren't quite the same as the LF the FS sells(very smooth, however not quite round).

Also what is coral exactly? Does it grow in tanks? Because I've seen pieces that look like tiny white branches around the bed of my tank.

<<It will grow over all the live rock eventually>>

<<Yes, there are plenty that can be bad on live rock, aiptasia glass anemone's for one...Please review the hitch hiker thread which is a sticky of this specific marine forum to view what people see>>

<<All the live rock will be seeded in time. Remember, seeding is not about coralline algae's growing, its refering to the bacteria which live in and on the live rock which provides the natural filtration for the tank>>

<<I think its always good to add different types of live rock to a tank, gives it some diversity. Adding rocks from the beaches et cetra is not normally deemed a good idea as you dont know where the rock has been, what it has absorbed. Stick to proper live rock>>

<<Coral are living organisms, anthozoa's..comes in many shapes and sizes, yes, can certainly grow in the tank, however growth usualy starts from another coral in the tank spawning / reproducing>>
