Just thought I'de share a few pics of my stand. Still have to tweak the door and add some trim to hide my un-handy work on cutting the door out. Then sand, stain, and varnish.
Sorry bout the quality, from my cell phone.

Thanks, first piece of furniture I've built. So a lot of came from trying to remember what my grandfather use to do when I watched him while growing up. I however don't have a workshop like he did. Couple screwguns, chop saw, circular saw, and a dremel.

I am not too far ahead of you on tools, but am fortunate enough to have a couple of buddies that do. Seems together we have most bases covered.
I actually have a patent on a piece of furniture I built. I am probably the only person who thinks it is cool, but I get to say I am an inventor!!

this humidity is killing me. The rainy days have only allowed me to get one coat of spar varnish on it so far.
On a side note, my wife bought me a Mag-Drive 9.5 for father's day, but as I was going through the items I have, I noticed I'm missing the in-tank portion of the HOB overflow. agghh..
And my brother got his '62 caddy back from the shop, so room in his garage is now plenty low for me to finish it.
Looks Great! Cannot wait to see it with the tank on top.

Well, not on top of the new stand, but here's the tank during the leak test, and making sure the salt creep encrusted lights work, as its sitting on the old, nasty, stand.

And just for s... and giggles, becuase its so pretty, my brothers car that is now in my way.

LOL, actually he just got an air bag suspension on it, so the trunk has 2 big air tanks in it. Perhaps I could just throw the stand on the trunk lid to finish varnishing it.

Well, Its finally home. Still need to finish the trim around the bottom off the tank and build a canopy. But think I'll do the plumbing first so I can fill it and start to use it. Got a 20G long to use a sump/fuge. Cut some plexi this morning for a bubble trap, but didn't have enough for the refuge wall. So going to get some tomorrow and get it all siliconed in place.

Thanks guys.
Worked on the sump today and picked up the PVC for the returns, still trying to figure out how I am going to build an internal overflow box, decided I am going to drill the tank.
Also bought egg crate, which I cut to size; some halogen under counter lights for DIY moon lights, that someone here made (but forget who); and curtains for our bedroom, so we can sleep later.
The stand looks great.

It ain't pretty, but I figure it doesn't have to be. Water tested it this morning, and it held, but think I'll but a brace across the return pump area to prevent some bowing in the plexiglass I used, should of used the next thickness up from the one I used.

Nice Job.
I have to add baffles to my 125 sump project still. What did you use to secure the plex? What are you planning to do to "but a brace," attach one smaller piece vertically?

Sorry about that. Typo, meant "put a brace".
I have some extra eggcrate and plan on cutting some to fit like a bridge aross the return section in the middle. Looking at the pic in my last post it would be between the single baffle on the left to the first baffle on the bubble trap (first as in the farthest to the left, baffle next to the return section). That would prevent either of those baffles bowing inward, the other baffles of the bubble trap are fine since they have equal water hieght on either side. But since the middle section has a lower water line those two bow towards each other.

Used AGA sealant at first. Had it laying around, but ran out after 2 baffles. Hence my 2-Tone Ska looking sump. Bought GE silicone I for the other 2 since it doesn't have the mildewcide like the II does now. Roughed up the plexiglass with sandpaper to give the silicone some hope of holding. Also went really heavy on the silicone to ensure it would hold the plexiglass and fill any gaps between the glass and plexiglass.
...GE silicone I ...
Intend to use same myself. Please post a pic of you bracing after it is installed. I will also have extra egg crate and wish to imitate your bracing, if you do not mind?
