I was wondering if I could but some de-nitrate gravel in the bottom of my marineland canister. I think there may be a problem with the flow rate though?

How old is your tank and what type of filtration do you have, LR, Skimmer, Flow, Fuge?? Canisters can lead to nitrate problems on there own.

are you trying to bring the nitrates down?

Yea, trying to lower the nitrate big time. I have a 75 gallon tank with 3 marine land c-360 canister and a protein skimmer. I have atleast 80 lbs of live rock. I put some live rock rubble in each of the canister bottom treys. I just feel the bioballs and ceremics are not doing jack. So I was wondering if I could put some denitrate coral in them.
I due a 50 percent water change and the nitrate are still at like 75. No fuge and tank is about ten years old.

Thanks

I have a really small tank cabniet so thats why I went with the canister instead of the refugium setup. Everything is going ok, I have had a flame scallop for a month but I dont know if thats because I have a good setup or just lucky. Need to get the nitrates down. I do have room for a denitrate canister but it would have to be not tall.
Thanks again
