The guy told me these lightings were ok for my tank.
corallife
19 gl /50/50 28 watt (hard to find bulb)
90gl 2x10,000 65 watts
2x actinic 65 watts
Something is telling me this isnt right .
And what are these reflectors people are talking about?
Thanks

Well then you will want to stay away from PC's on the 90 gallon, you can go with T-5's with like 4 over driven on a IC 660 ballast and a couple on a Work Horse ballast and have reflectors on each bulb or go with MH's with actinic supplementation. Both of these light set ups should allow you to keep anything you want.

Ok sorry I didnt explain better. IC 660 is a Ice Cap 660 ballast for flouresent bulbs, if you run 54 watt T-5's on it they will be over driven to about 85 watts I think, the work horse is a Fulham ballast and they dont over drive the bulbs. The reflectors clip on each bulb to redirect the light down into the tank and greatly improves the out put of the bulbs so you should have 1 reflector for each bulb. I would run 4 day light bulbs on the Ice Cap ballast and 2 actinic bulbs on the work horse ballast. The actinics will bring out the colors of your corals and work good for dawn and dusk lighting IMO. You could also run Metal Halide lights with actinic flouresents for better color. When keeping high light loving animals like anemones, clams and SPS corals you need lights with high par values http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosynthetically_active_radiation
PC's just dont produce high enough par for these animals in most tanks, T-5 flouresents do produce high par values along with Metal Halides. Hope this helps you out.
