OK so i went on vacation for 4 days. so i put 2 big 5 day feeder blocks into my 55g (the tank with the pacus in my sig). for all my fish in there. there was also tons of algae for my pleco, sine he rarely cleans any of the algae off i figured he would be fine eating the algae in there. but when i got back from my trip i returned to a totally clean tank!! no algae what so ever. but what i did find was a hard tiger pleco stuck on the intake to my filter. i pulled him out and gave him a proper burial. i concluded that the pleco died to lack of food since he had all his fins in perfect shape and the water conditions were fine.

Those feeders might have put a lot of hardness into the tank. Checked your parameters lately?

Sorry to be flip...I just hope that this helps shed some light on the subject.

as soon as i noticed he was dead i checked the water and all was the same as when i left, then i did a 25% water change jsut for good measure. hardness was fine too.

i think he just ran out of food to eat
