i had a pond which i shut down but decided to keep the lily pad instead of trashing it so i put it in my aquarium. i tried looking up care sheets but nothing came up except one match that didnt tell me anything.

i gota prune it because some of the leaves got destroyed by the filter and had too much of a stem. this way, it can make shorter sturdier stems. it is already making new leaves which is a good sign.

i only have an 18 watt light and a 15 watt light and the tank is right next to a window

anyone have experience with "hardy lilies" n aquariums? what happens if it dosent get a winter rest?

The winter rest will be less of an issue than the lighting. Lilies require very strong light- they do best in full sunlight. It will do poorly in your tank.

If you really want to keep it, you could set up a plastic tub garden outside and keep it in that. If lightly stocked or fishless, the tub would not require filtration.
