Over-Driving Normal Output bulbs?

Anybody have any info or links on over driving normal output florecent bulbs with electronic ballasts? Anybody here using this method for thier lights? I aqautic garden so I stay out of that 10,000k+ range but I figured you guys might do this for some of your lights.

I use an IceCap 660 to drive 3 GE Daylight Ultra 40 watt lamps and 1 Philips Actinic 03 lamp. Using a light meter, I get approximately 1 1/2 times as much light as the same lamps driven by two tar ballasts that I also have in the same hood.
