yup purple waffle, even though the lighting makes it look red in these pictures. as little said, it is not aquatic and will eventually fall apart.
went back to the lfs yesterday and they said that they are a marsh plant used to being submerged but also needing air every now and then. i took one out and put in root level water and it has started witherin away already. the one in the tank is still flourishing but i will keep an eye on it thanks for all of the advice
