hey guys,

ive had my fbts for more than 6 months and they're doing great feeding on crickets

in about a week im getting a leopard gecko and am going to be feeding it mealworms

i just wanna know if anyone here feeds their fbts mealworms... i know ive read some things about their exoskeleton being too hard to digest, and the 'horror' stories, blah blah blah... but do any of you know if the shell is as hard on the mini-mealworms (1/4in)?

not having to deal w/ crickets and keeping mealworms would just be so much easier

i am concerned w/ the well-being of my fbts over convenience

thanks for any input :)

No mealworms at all unless they are freshly molted. They look like a soft bright white mealworm after they molt.

what about using cultures of tomato or silkworms, at least to supplement the critter's diets? I am not sure how expensive the cultures would be or if tomato/silkworms would be proper food for 100% of either creatures diet, but perhaps they could at least give you a common food source a couple times a year.
