hey all! well i currently have 4 labs, 2 snow white socolofi, and 2 blue zebras. but like i'm going to move them into my 75 sometime over summer, and i just need to know what other fish i could get? i really really REALLY want a big fish. even if i can only get one with the current fish i have, are there any African Cichlids that are big or any American Cichlids or any fish at all that can co-exist with my current fish that get pretty big? and are not hard to find too. i've been told before to get a malawii eye biter before, but i can't find any! :mad2: is there any other fish you might recommend?

how about a midas cichlid? a small one won't kill my fish and they won't harass it too much right?

No, stick with synos. That's all. Some can tell you Africans and Americans are fine together but it is not. Temperament varies and considering most fish behave differently, you are playing a big risk mixing both together.

For whatever you settle on, wait until you have the tank.

but in a 75 if i don't get anymore fish except for those there will be lots of room in the tank for both species to coexist right.

Not sure what you mean? If you mean, will the 75 have enough room for all your Africans you have, it certainly would be, and you could add more Africans or synos if you wanted. If you mean, is a 75 big enough for the Africans you have + a Midas for life?? No way. Midas grow to 12" + and usually have quite a girth to them as well. Usually I see a 75G recommended for just a Midas alone. They are very aggressive and territorial, and once it got big enough it would most likely kill your Africans. It could possibly work as a short time for a grow out tank for the Midas, but not if it was too small when you got it, as then the Africans could destroy it.

well what if i put my africans in a 75 gal and got more africans and synos, could i keep any americans in my 30?

In my opinion, knowing the typical mood of a Midas, the africans will die, if you mix them.

The 30 could ahve some rams or apistos.
