Just got back from the beach in Maine. Did a little driftwood searching. found a bunch of wood. is there anything that i have to do with natural cured driftwood? i looked and people were soaking and boiling and all that but from what i read it sounded like they were trying to create driftwood not have actualy driftwood. thanks guys

I would boil it to kill anything that may be on it that you do not want to introduce to your tank, like parasites and bacteria.

The boiling will also act like the soaking getting it water logged, if it isn't already, so it sinks.

awesome. ill have a lot to trade on here as well. i was sad that i coulndt find any root driftwood.

if your thinkin of sellin any medium/large pieces let me know!

Got Pics?

ya i can take some pics. they are just like your standard branch and log types. nothing special or cool. but they can be considered " building blocks" i guess. im gonna try and make something cool.

hollow log pieces can fetch a good price...

I got a holow piece of driftwood I found wedged between two rocks in a river that is about 6 inches long. Except I use that as a hiding place for my Kuhli Loaches and to grow Java Moss on it. :grinyes:
