I know there are a ton of posts on cycling tanks but I have to ask....

Where do you think this one is at?
12G aquapod
about 5 lbs. live rock, 8lbs. base (will be changing out for about 15-20lbs. live rock)
Also have about 2 lbs. of Red Sea base material from my other established tank in it.

PH = 7.8
Amm = .25
Rate = 10
Rite = 0

Been running for about 2 weeks now

Does also have some brown diatoms growing on some rock and edges of glass in the past 3 days.

Seems about 40% complete. That ammonia needs to go down and the other parameters need to increase before you are about 60% there.

I would recommend getting all your live rock now. It will help speed up your cycle and reduce the chances of a mini cycle happening when you add such a large amount of live rock later.

P.S. Nice choice on the 12G aquapod. I am sure you will be happy with it. Its a nice display nano tank.

I am going to pick up the rest of the L.R. either tomorrow night or Friday, then it will be in there.
I was going to use the aquapod as a Q.T. tank but decided it wouldn't be a great choice to Q.T. fish for my 150G, just not really large enough.
I would like to try a tang or similar and want it to have plenty of room to swim around for the month or so it will be in there.
So I went with my 25 or 30G, not sure exactly what it is but it's an old f.w. setup with a light and filter so good enough for me!
Put the filter sponge in my sump tonight to start collecting stuff and get like the display tank.

So I figured here's the chance to set up a nice nano tank like you see in all the LFS anymore. Some type of little reef setup.

Thanks for the reply, I'll post back how it's doing to make sure it's going right.

I agree your about halfway through.
Diatoms are strange, they nearly always kick in on week two, well for me they have anyway, and gradually disappear over the next couple of weeks. Your pH is a bit low, maybe increase circulation at the surface or check your KH.
