After lights out, my Blue Mystery Snail was above the water line all evening. This morning when I turned the lights on I found this 2 to 3 inch pink line of eggs. She laid them on the underside of the tank cover. What do I do? Do I leave them there? I have a 3 gallon Eclipse set up and running. How long before they hatch? Any advice welcome! And my JurassiCal came in yesterday so I have all the ingredients now for snail jello. IMG_0276.JPG

Duh - I just found the sticky at the top of the Invert page! LOL! I guess in my state of excitement I didn't see it.

Here is a shot of the tank and where the water line is. The tank cover is plastic and easily removed. Any methods for raising these eggs is appreciated. IMG_0284.JPG

Ask yourself: Do you really want at least 20+ new snails? You need a permit to sell them. I keep taking clutches out and freezing them yet somehow I have over 15 new mystery snail babies, and I saw another one today. that is pea size. So now I have over 20 snails that I don't want and they seem to live forever.

I'm not even sure if I can get these to hatch so I'm not worried about it. I would LOVE to raise some baby snails. I wasn't this excited when my White Clouds spawned. I'm in the process of setting up a 20 gallon snail only tank, which was a project I started before this snail laid eggs.

Does anyone know if I should wait before removing these eggs? I turned over the cover and the clutch is dry and very hard. I'm assuming I would have to crack it to get it off? The female is still carrying more eggs. I can see them through the shell. I don't know if they will show up well but I took a pic if anyone is interested. IMG_0287.JPG

I typically wait a day, often some exterior eggs will get crushed when removing. No worries, plenty more inside as I typically get about 150 babies from each clutch. You might consider breaking it in half to raise some babies. I responded in your other thread on how I hatch. Pm me if you have any questions as well!
