Hey everybody! Just thought I'd share a few pics of my 4 month old african tank. I just recently pulled all the fake plants and the old gravel out. I put in about 65 pounds of pool filter sand 3 weeks ago. Boy do they love it! They are constantly digging in it and spitting it everywhere. I have a bigger Marineland h-o-b with biowheels and recently added a Magnum 350 canister.
Here's what I think I have in it:
Red Zebra Metriaclima estherae -3
Pseudotropheus sp. "Acei" -3
Bumblebee Pseudotropheus crabro -3
Melanochromis cyaneorhabdos -2
Melanochromis auratus -4
1 unidentified African
1 pleco & 1 catfish.

Here's a few pics:

Can anybody tell me what I have here? :

Any suggestions on my stocking or aquascaping?

Thanks for any comments!!

Thanks guys. I'm in the process of getting some more rocks so I can get some higher stacks and some more hiding spots. But I'm amazed how often these guys swim around at the top even with all that empty space!

Looking great. nice shots. I have a 55g too. check it out n let me know what you think.

Nice tank, maybe some drift wood.........:)

Nice tank ,but i definately would get some more rock. Give them all there own territory. Driftwood is neat to mix in too. Great mix of fish,Africans are fun to watch..

Thanks for all the replies guys... and thanks to ibr3ak for the ID. Until two days ago, I had 2 of the m. joanjohnsonae, but I woke up to find one of them and my giraffe hap dead. :(

I definitely plan on more rocks... In fact, I'm going on a float trip in a couple of weeks in southwestern Missouri and I'm going to try to find some cool rocks to add... We don't have a lot in the way of rock in the flatlands of Illinois.
