i have had a miracle of life occur in my tank. new fry have emerged from under the rock to feed. although i only found 2 to isolate in their own tank im really stoked. Im curious what kind of breeding cycle they have because im totally uncertain. and how many fry are produced per clutch. 2 seemed a little low for this time around but they may have been eaten if there was more than 2. anyhow all info would be greatly appreciated.

We'd need more info such as species and all that...also, posting this in Cichlids might get you more help than posting here.

Congratulation, but you should try posting with more info on the cichlid forum.

I'll be a helpful mod and move this over to the cichlid forum. Identifying the species will definitely assist others in answering your questions.

It depends on which species or type of cichlids you have on determining how many they will have at a time. My Aulonocara will have 40-50 at a time. My S. fryeri held 53 at one time, and Ive had some mbuna(L. hongi) hold 25 at one time.

And its most likely that the other tankmates ate the fry.
